Arellano JavierJavier Arellano Yanguas

He is a lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Applied Ethics. He works on issues related to development, natural resources and public governance. He holds a PhD in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies (University of Sussex), where he also gained a Master's in Governance and Development. He also holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, a Bachelor’s in Religious Sciences and Theology from the University of Deusto, and an Expert Diploma in International Economics and Cooperation from the University of the Basque Country.Research work

She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Deusto. She lectures on moral philosophy and applied ethics. She is also a member of the Centre for Applied Ethics at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences. She coordinates the BA degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, jointly delivered by the Universities of Comillas, Deusto and Ramon Llull.

She holds a Diploma in Executive Secretarial Studies from the University of Deusto. From 1997 to 1998, she carried out conference and event planning and management tasks at the University’s Institute of Leisure Studies. From 1998 to 2006 she worked as a secretary at the International Relations Office, dealing with the needs of international students. Then, she worked as a secretary at the University's Language Centre. Since 2015 she has been part of the Centre’s team as a secretary.   
 

Bermúdez AngelaÁngela Bermúdez Velez

She is currently studying the educational and pedagogical processes that contribute to the construction of sustainable cultures of peace. She is interested in the role played by history in the normalization of political violence or, on the contrary, in the development of a critical understanding. She conducts research on formal education spaces such as schools and non-formal education spaces such as museums and memorial spaces. She completed her doctoral thesis at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. Research work

He holds a BA in Philosophy and Theology and a PhD in Theology. He is a paid layman in pastoral tasks in the Diocese of Bilbao and is currently responsible for the Peace and Reconciliation area. He teaches Ethics at the University of Deusto. He lectures on Civic and Professional Ethics at the Faculty of Engineering and is a member of the Centre for Applied Ethics. He is a member of the Diocesan Institute of Theology and Pastoral Care in Bilbao. He participated in initiatives for peace in the Basque Country such as Gesto por la Paz and Bakeaz or 'Víctimas educadoras' and 'Glencree'.Research work

He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, and a degree in Ecclesiastical Studies and Philosophy from the Universidad de Deusto. He lectures on Introduction to Philosophy (Faculty of Theology) and Civic and Professional Ethics (Faculties of Law, Economics and Business). He coordinates Deusto Campus Culture and collaborates in the management team of the Centre for Applied Ethics. His research revolves around understanding identities in globalised and post-modern societies. Research work

He is currently working on his doctoral thesis in the field of consolidation of ethical culture in multinational companies. He holds a degree in Social Communication and Journalism and worked as a journalist in São Paulo, Brazil. He earned a double Master's in International Relations and Diplomacy in Paris. His research interests focus on the development of civil society, business ethics and participatory and prospective methodologies such as scenario planning/strategic foresight.  Research work

She is a lecturer in the Department of Mechanics, Design and Industrial Organisation at the Faculty of Engineering. Her professional career has been linked to construction, cooperation and teaching. She has conducted her doctoral research as part of the programme in Human Rights: Ethical, Social and Political Challenges and focuses on citizen participation in the design of public space. She holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the École Centrale de Nantes (France) and a degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering from the University of Mondragón

She completed secretarial studies at the Basque Centre for New Professions. She has worked as an administrative assistant in several private companies, developing customer service, management and monitoring of the commercial network and support to the accounting department. Since 2012, she has been a secretary at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Deusto, providing administrative support to various master’s programmes, including the Master's in Ethics for Social Construction.

She holds a BA degree in Philosophy and Education, specialising in Psychology, from the University of Deusto. She completed her education with a Master's in Business Administration (Wayne State University) and an MSc in International Political Theory (University of Edinburgh). She has developed her career in the field of humanitarian action, coordinating projects and teams in international NGOs in countries affected by human and natural disasters. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis on ethics and digital economy and is a member of Directica.

He has worked in the field of cooperation in Central America, mainly in Guatemala, managing development and humanitarian action projects for six years. He has also worked in the financial department in NGODs. He manages both national and international projects and grants.

She graduated in Humanities with a Mention in Philosophy and History of Religions and holds a Master's in Ethics for Social Construction from the University of Deusto. She is currently doing the PhD Programme in Human Rights: Ethical, Social and Political Challenges. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the study of the interactions between women's movements and gender equality organizations from the perspective of gender-based social accountability.

She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Zaragoza and a Masters in Ethics for Social Construction from the University of Deusto. She combines her doctoral studies with her work at the University of Deusto in the field of identity and mission. Since April 2017 she has been Director of the University Social Responsibility area. Her doctoral thesis studies the processes of participation in organisations to promote institutional commitment and coherence with ethical-social values.

He holds a BA and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Deusto and a degree in Religious Sciences from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He lectures on History of Philosophy and Ethics and is a researcher at the Centre for Applied Ethics. He has had stays at the University of Tubingen, Coimbra and Freie Universität of Berlin, and Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter of the Institut M.-D. Chenu Institute (Berlin). He coordinates lecturers in Civic and Professional Ethics. His research focuses on issues related to political ethics and human rights. Research work

She is a lecturer in the Faculties of Theology and Psychology and Education, and an academic director of the Master’s in Ignatian Pedagogy. Her research interests are mainly in the field of education, the role of narrative in ethical reflection and the teaching of ethics. He holds a PhD in Human Rights from the University of Deusto. He specialises in the application of business impact assessment processes. He collaborates in Directica, offering advice on organisational ethics. He previously studied the Master’s in Ethics for Social Construction and graduated in Social Work at the University of Deusto. He has professional experience in the field of attention to vulnerable groups and in the application of public policies on social intervention.

She holds a PhD in Sociology and is a researcher at Ramón y Cajal. She conducts research on the social impact of dialogical leadership in learning communities. From an interdisciplinary perspective and with a specific focus on Social Work, she has made contributions on cultural diversity, gender and cooperativism, among others. She has participated in international projects and publications on the social impact of research. She has been Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge.

He teaches Civic and Professional Ethics and Globalisation in various UD Faculties. As a researcher at the Centre for Applied Ethics, his current interest is focused on public ethics and accountability. He has also conducted research in the fields of the sociology of religion, communication and migration. He holds a PhD in International and Intercultural Studies; a Master's in Migration, Conflict and Social Cohesion; a BA in Sociology and Political Science and a BA degree in Philosophy. He is a Ph.D. student within the research group on Conflict and Cultures of Peace, Centre for Applied Ethics, University of Deusto. His research focuses on the ways young people in post-conflict societies understand recent violent conflicts. He examines group processes, with an emphasis on the role of history education in post-conflict societies. He holds a B.A. in psychology from University of Belgrade and a M.A. in Interdisciplinary Research and Studies on Eastern Europe (MIREES) from the University of Bologna and Ljubljana.   Research work

She holds a PhD in Political Science and Sociology from the University of the Basque Country. Her research focuses on political ethics, violence, gender perspective and interculturality. She lectures on Critical Options on Social Life and Civic and Professional Ethics in the Double Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Relations and Law, and in the BA degrees in Modern Languages, Modern Languages and Management. She is Director of the Master’s in Ethics for Social Construction and the Expert Diploma in Ethical Organisational Management. Research work

He teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Faculties of Engineering, Business Administration and Social and Human Sciences, where he lectures on Civic and Professional Ethics and other subjects related to economic ethics and organisational ethics.
