Basque Philology-Euskal Filologia

The degree programme

Course description

In the Bachelor’s degree in Basque Philology you will learn to express yourself fluently in written and spoken Basque, in all of its linguistic varieties. You will also learn to analyse, correct and write out different types of texts. We will ensure that you have a good command of the main linguistic and literary analysis techniques while you learn to respect and recognise plurilingual situations. These skills will enable you to transmit the culture and knowledge of the Basque language by recognising its inherent values.

At the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, we ensure that you have an all round background, focused on critical coherent thinking adapted to the requirements of the world of work. This will help you to:

  • Perform successfully in general culture contexts, with special emphasis on the Basque language.
  • Efficiently respond to future needs for the Basque language in different professional fields.
  • Learn the skills needed for an increasingly globalised and multilingual world.
  • Learn the technology skills applied to language.
