Teaching will take place in small seminar groups. The material will be practice-oriented and theory will be explained in relation to current practices in professional environments, you will develop skills in relation to translation, interpreting, subtitling and intercultural communication, with a particular focus on business contexts. You will gain new skills in relation to the use of technology for translation. As an expert in intercultural communication, you will be able to prevent and handle conflict in international contexts. Your tutors will be experts in their areas and will bring research-led examples to the seminars.
You will have the opportunity to learn in two different countries, which will allow you to experience intercultural encounters from the very beginning of your course. The work placement will give you real-world experience and will help you to make industry contacts. You will become independent learners through a combination of teaching methodologies. You will prepare your seminars beforehand and undertake independent research after the seminars. The range of assessments will help you to develop different skills to foster your professionalism as an expert in intercultural communication and as a translator specialised in business and management.
