Commencement of the Training Programme in Human Rights for Latin American indigenous leaders

29 April saw the commencement the 19th Training Programme in Human Rights for Latin American Leaders, carried out jointly with the UN's High Commission for Human Rights. This year we are pleased to have the participation of eleven people who belong to eleven different indigenous communities from ten countries. Participants include five women defenders and activists for indigenous peoples’ rights against the crudest effects of globalisation and neoextractivism. We also have leaders from communities that have not been represented in our programme before such as the Qom and Rapa Nui peoples.
