Last 26-28 November, the Regional Committee of UNRWA Euskadi held a Seminar entitled "Focus on Gender and Interculturality in Humanitarian Action". The seminar was designed for students on the Erasmus Mundus Master's in International Humanitarian Action (NOHA) and on the PhD programme in Human Rights: ethical, social and political challenges.
The aim of this seminar was to provide students with practical knowledge and tools to apply the Gender and Interculturality Perspective to Humanitarian Action, based on the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) case, to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of humanitarian action. The seminar had a feminist perspective and highlighted the role played by feminist and women’s organisations as humanitarian actors and agents of change in their communities.
The seminar was funded by the Basque Development Cooperation Agency and the Biscay Regional Council.
